Pointwise nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator of stochastically ordered survivor functions.
In this paper, we consider estimation of survivor functions from groups of observations with right-censored data when the groups are subject to a stochastic ordering constraint. Many methods and algorithms have been proposed to estimate distribution functions under such restrictions, but none have completely satisfactory properties when the observations are censored. We propose a pointwise cons...
متن کاملOn Calculating the Nonparametric Maximum Likelihood Estimator of a Distribution given Interval Censored Data on Calculating the Nonparametric Maximum Likelihood Estimator of a Distribution given Interval Censored Data
SUMMARY We introduce an algorithm for calculating the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator of a distribution function when data are interval censored. This algorithm has advantages over existing methods such as the pool-adjacent-violators algorithm and the greatest-convex-minorant algorithm. We establish a theoretical result related to the expected run time of the new method.
متن کاملEmpirical likelihood bivariate nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator with right censored data
This article considers the estimation for bivariate distribution function (d.f.) F0(t, z) of survival time T and covariate variable Z based on bivariate data where T is subject to right censoring. We derive the empirical likelihood-based bivariate nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator F̂n(t, z) for F0(t, z), which has an explicit expression and is unique in the sense of empirical likelihood...
متن کاملLecture 22: Maximum Likelihood Estimator
In the first part of this lecture, we will deal with the consistency and asymptotic distribution of maximum likelihood estimator. The second part of the lecture focuses on signal estimation/tracking. An estimator is said to be consistent if it converges to the quantity being estimated. This section speaks about the consistency of MLE and conditions under which MLE is consistent.
متن کاملA nonparametric monotone maximum likelihood estimator of time trend for repairable systems data
The trend-renewal-process (TRP)is defined to be a time-transformed renewal process, where the time transformation is given by a trend function λ(·) which is similar to the intensity of a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). A nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator of the trend function of a TRP is obtained under the often natural condition that λ(·) is monotone. An algorithm for computing...
